To stage or not to stage, this is the question? I'm curious to know those out there that have sold homes in the past if you have put any effort into staging your house? What about those who have recently bought, was the house you purchased "staged" or presented well or did you have to "look past" to see the true potential of the house?

I recently sold a "gem" of a property. This house was situated in a popular area and was of average age and size for this area. However, the owner of the property to her credit put a great deal of time and effort to presenting her home in the best possible light. By clearing out the clutter, re-arranging her furniture and strategically decorating she had transformed her house into a warm, inviting home.

The showings were phenomenal, the buzz was great and the feedback was awesome. All due to the right presentation of the property and some great marketing i might add Wink  When the offers started poring in i think the both of us were a little shocked, when the dust settled and we looked through all 7 offers, we had sold the property very quickly, with great terms and well over our asking price.

So dose staging really work? You want my professional opinion, YES! How many times do we as Realtors with our clients walk through a promising property to find that it completely disappoints when we get inside. Granted some times its just a case of not the right house, but, more often than not, its a reflection of the lack of work the owner has put in to show their house to its true potential. Further to that point i feel as a professional i have a duty to my client to make them aware that they need to make some changes to give us a greater chance of meeting out objectives.

If your considering selling in the near future there are many staging tips on line, however it doesn't need to be that complicated. If you need some advise or a professional eye to come by, just call thats what we are here for.

So post here, i would love to here your staging or lack there of stories.

Talk to you soon,
